We hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday season, and we wish all our readers a Happy New Year! Though the reptiles are still very much in hibernation, the RAR crew is hard at work on our next round of events.
Over the last couple years we have been developing curriculum based classroom materials for grades 1 through 8 that focus on reptiles at risk in Ontario - many of the same species we use in our programs. Though classroom lessons and materials often include animals, the most common are things like lions, tigers, giraffes and other exotic animals. Our hope is to
provide resources that will demonstrate the amazing wildlife we have right here in Ontario!
These resources are avalible for free to download from www.scalesnaturepark.ca . To promote these resources we will also be holding several workshops over the next month in some of our Ontario target regions. Teachers are invited to drop in between 4pm and 6pm on each of the following dates to look over the materials, interact with the animals, and discuss other ways of bringing our local environment into the classroom. Refreshments will also be provided.
