We finally have a clear picture of our project funding for this year, and can solidify our plans. Until the paperwork is signed, we can't make any detailed announcements, but we can say a few things about what will be happening.
1) We will have a team operating in northeastern Ontario delivering enhanced programming, with a focus on First Nations communities. By enhanced, I mean full day "mini-camp" experiences for the kids (and their families). This is a whole new area for us, and we're very optimistic about it.
2) We will not be in eastern Canada this summer (barring major unforeseen circumstances) as we did not receive any funding for Quebec or the Atlantic provinces. For those of you who would like to see us out there again, we're sorry it didn't work out. We're still hopeful for the future, though.
3) We will have extensive programming in southern Ontario, in various target regions. There will be two formats this year- the normal programs we've always done, and 'display booth' set ups in high traffic locations and at events. This format is new to the RAROTR project, but has been done by Sciensational Sssnakes!! for years. We think it will be a great addition!
Robin Manley is back for another summer, and will be doing most of the co-ordination of the project as well as some of the blog updates. You'll hear lots from her, and the other staff, in the coming days.
Stay tuned for more details soon!
