Nova Scotia, at last!
Posted by Jeff Hathaway on August 10, 2007 at 3:39 PM
From New Brunswick to Nova Scotia we had a day off to just enjoy! A FULL day off! One WITHOUT repairs to the trailer or the van! AND we were in a beautiful ocean front cottage at the Amherst Shore Country Inn! Jeff's relatives run the inn and it is such a beautiful place with GREAT food!
We had a very relaxing day off. We went out at low tide and dug up clams, found crabs, and other marine life, we read a bit, and caught up on some emails, mail and phone calls to people back home! The next day was a great day as we had only one show! We were able to sleep in a bit. The show at the Amherst Library, our first program ever in Nova Scotia, went well but it was a little sad for us as it was Sarah Jane's last show. She was off on a bus after the show to go back to Ontario *sniffle, sniffle* as she has a field course that starts soon. After a teary good-bye at the bus station, we headed back to the cottage for our last night there. Sarah Jane - Have fun!
In the morning, we woke to gale force winds and some rain, not to mention the salt spray from the waves in front of our cozy little cottage! It stood firm against the elements (unlike our trailer, which still leaks heavily), but we had to pack up and get moving to get to our next show.
Pictou library was a full crowd! They were super intelligent, and there were a few pet snake owners in the crowd, which is always cool to see! We worked a bit there before and after the show so that we were able to catch up some on the emails and pictures, as we know you have all been waiting to see what has been happening in our little world!
Smiles and Laugter
