Festival Day- Music and CHOCOLATE!
Posted by Jeff Hathaway on July 26, 2007 at 4:28 PM
We were woken up this morning by people knocking on the trailer asking if we were the snake people and if we were going to do another show tonight. It is pretty interesting to be recognized at parks now…
As we got ready to leave, Jeff decided that WE should back up and hitch the trailer. I drove as the Sarahs guided me back and we got it on the first try! We even got the van to start on the second time! (Eragon, the van, has been giving us difficulty lately).
Our first show was as the music festival in Perth, it was much larger then we had anticipated. We had some issues with where we were going so the van let me off to find our parking place and our tent. Once I made contact and found where we were going I went back out to the corner where they let me off expecting to find them. Instead, 25 minutes later, Sarah Jane walked up behind me and tells me that they found a spot to park as well as the place we were presenting and then they came to find me. I felt so lost, so forgotten about…But the show went really well, with nearly 300 people present, so everything was fine.
The second show was at the CHOCOLATE FESTIVAL! We assumed it would have been at the Hershey’s factory, but it was not. (Not that that stopped us from visiting the chocolate factory anyways…). So now we have a mini fridge full of all sorts of chocolate in the van. I don’t think Jeff knows what he got himself into.
After the show, we returned to Charleston Lake for our last show of the night, which turned out to be REALLY cool. The show went great (those headset microphones nifty…I feel like Britney Spears on stage!), and we even had a special guest appear partway through the show. The “guest” was a broadwing hawk that circled over the amphitheatre a few times, checking things out.
Smiles and laughter,
Mary Ellen
